Qualification for professional tree care

Qualification for tree care professionals
The European Tree Worker (ETW) is a qualification for tree care professionals that is recognized throughout Europe. This certification ensures that arborists have in-depth knowledge in the areas of tree inspection, tree maintenance, rope climbing techniques and occupational safety.
The course starts with an introduction to tree biology and tree statics in order to understand the growth behavior and vitality assessment of trees. Building on this, you will learn the various pruning techniques for crown care and protection in order to keep trees healthy and ensure their traffic safety.
A central component of the course is the rope climbing technique (SKT), which makes it possible to work efficiently and safely in treetops. Both the use of aerial work platforms and the professional handling of chainsaws in trees are taught.
This is supplemented by training in tree inspection, in which participants learn to recognize damage at an early stage and initiate suitable measures for tree maintenance.
In addition, the legal framework and safety regulations are covered in order to avoid accidents and comply with legal requirements.
In addition to theoretical knowledge, the course offers numerous practical exercises to directly apply what has been learned. The training concludes with an examination consisting of theoretical and practical modules.
